About Pomskies
Pomsky Puppies
The Pomsky is a cross between a Siberian Husky and a Pomeranian. The resulting Pomeranian-Husky mix is small to medium in size, and may also sometimes be called a Miniature Husky, though Pomsky is quickly becoming recognized as the preferred term for the breed. Puppies display a beautiful mix of features and personality traits from both parents, with many born with the striking blue eyes common to the Husky breed. Pomsky puppies are charming dogs with wonderful personalities. Their laid-back attitude and moderate energy levels make them appropriate for any home, whether you have a large yard or live in an apartment. In addition, they are also highly intelligent, making them highly receptive to training. Pomskies are known for being highly affectionate and loyal, making them a wonderful family pet. They are also a suitable choice for households with small children and other pets.
FAQs
Do Pomskies Shed?
Siberian Huskies and Pomeranians are both double-coated dog breeds, and therefore Pomskies are as well. They shed just like the breeds they are descended from. The best way to minimize shedding is through regular brushing with an appropriate brush or comb. Not, only does this mean less hair around your house, it also helps to prevent tangles and matting.
Do you belong to an official organizing body of pomsky breeders?
Yes, we do!
JD Pomskies is a registered breeder with the American Pomsky Kennel Club, and a Certified Member of the Pomsky Owners Association.
Our number one goal is to produce healthy Pomsky puppies that are free from common ailments that can occur in this particular breed. All of our foundation dogs undergo genetic testing through Embark and OFA, which identifies any genetic health risks a dog may be carrying. This helps us to avoid breeding dogs that are likely to produce puppies with common Pomsky health issues, including hip dysplasia, dislocated knees (luxating patellas), eye problems, epilepsy, heart disease, collapsing trachea, and skin problems.
